Hydrotrans Trailer Advantages
Greater Land Utilization
Hydrotrans trailers are significantly narrower than a sling lift so you can park boats closer together and double the storage capacity of your yard.
Improved Efficiency
Using a boat hoist alone requires you to lift a boat out of the water and drive the boat to a storage position (often a good distance from the pier) then go back to the pier empty to pick another boat. By adding a trailer to the operation, you can increase peak lifting capacity for your marina by up to 70%!
Key Product Features
Safety Margin
Unlike other trailer manufacturers, Hydrotrans uses only S355 steel for our trailers. This higher quality steel, when coupled with our advanced engineering, provides a safety margin of 25% in weight capacity.
This safety factor is important for at least two very good reasons. First, many pleasure boat owners add accessories to their boats which increases weight. In addition, some fiberglass boats absorb and carry a significant amount of water in their hulls and decks. Commercial vessels, most often fishing vessels, have had modifications over the years in order to increase capacity. We have documented many cases in which boats have exceeded our trailers official weight capacity. You need to have a safety margin in order to operate safely.
The next very important reason for a safety margin is the following. Consider towing a boat, either in your yard or down the road when the weight of the boat is at or near the trailer’s weight capacity. If the wheels of your trailer drop into a pothole or encounter another anomaly, there will be a sudden shock load that your trailer needs to absorb. Not only does the safety factor designed into each Hydrotrans trailer provide safer operation, it also significantly improves and extends the life of the trailer. We work hard to make sure that you receive a better and longer return on your investment.
Systems
Hydrotrans uses only the best hydraulic hoses, motors, and cylinders. We do not cut corners on parts in order to increase our margins. This is why we feel confident in offering our 2 year warranty.
Open End Design
The open-end design of our transporters allows you to move the load precisely where you want it, without having to pre-lift the boat into position. This saves you both time and money by allowing you to slip the transporter beneath the load, pick it up and immediately begin transport to its new location.
Crab Steering & 4-Corner Steering
On our self propelled and remote control trailers, crab steering provides the operator with the ability to maneuver a boat diagonally into position, a significant advantage versus more conventional steering controls. Having this ability can allow a marina to take advantage of awkward spaces and challenging stacking configurations. Four-corner steering further enhances maneuverability.
Hydraulic Lifting
With the hydraulic support arms, the adjustments required for lifting and balancing the load can be made quickly.
Wireless Remote Control
On our self propelled and remote control trailers, this feature gives the operator the ability to maneuver the loaded vessel and monitor the load at the same time. Requiring only one person, this allows you to more efficiently use personnel when moving boats.
Design and Manufacturing Flexibility
Hydrotrans has standard models, but unlike many other manufacturers, Hydrotrans can also design and build exactly to customer's needs. You get the trailer that most closely matches your requirements.
Pricing
With all of the advantages listed above, you might think that Hydrotrans trailers are more expensive. The reality is that our trailers are often significantly less expensive then our closest competitors. We achieve this by carefully controlling our costs, and by smart purchasing decisions. Our lean manufacturing provides you with a better, less expensive product.
